Do you mean Holloween? I think it started out as a day to remember your passed loved ones (All Souls Day - November 1) but the trick or treat aspect of it developed later. Not religious but they still do All Souls Day in Mexico where they have picnics on the graves of their ancestors as sort of a "Hi, we remember you".

Mary Smith, ummm No, Thanksgiving is NOT a Christian holiday. It is a celebration of being American as well as a celebration of family, fellowship and faith, (any faith).
