Wrestling used to invoke so many feelings. Hatred for the bad guy and a need for a hero to put them in their places. Now, I hate everyone. They don't stand up for goodness like wrestlers like Bret Hart did. They all stand up for a generation who would like to tear apart society.
If your kids can't watch something as entertaining as wrestling because it's too gross, something is terribly wrong.

I totally agree. One of the comments mentioned its glory days when decency and common sense when wrestling was consider family entertainment but not anymore. In my day these were the idols and they were "MEN OF HONOR" too.... they had Jimmy "Superfly" Sukka. I too remember the greats-Wahoo McDaniel,Ricky Steamboat,Roddy Piper,The Iron Sheik,The "Nature Boy" Rick Flair,Greg Valentine,Dusty "The American Dream" Rhodes,The Phantom Wrestler,
Bret Hart,Hulk "Hollywood" Hogan,Ivan "The Russian Assassination" Koloff,Andre The Giant, and so much more. I too remember when wrestling had some common decency too and nowadays its nothing but trashy entertainment. What is wrong in wrestling today? Nothing but trash talking steroid dudes who think one can whup the other. A lot of sexual references not mention the violence(some of it is explicitly graphic too) that is way out of control, and I mean of lot of violence in wrestling that goes beyond the limits too. Yeah,I said it. Tune into any wrestling match they show on television or cable(The CW,USA Network, and the Sci-Fi Channel show a lot this stuff not to mention Pay-Per View too, five days a week) sometime and you'll see what I'm talking about. Also to point out,the common decency that wrestling had in the day,has gone out the window, and what's left is nothing but skanky women and of course skanky men showing or basically wearing nothing at all when they step into the ring to face an opponent. Its not only the violence nor some of the strong language, but a lot of sexual references are added too, especially in the women's wrestling matches(where there is a lot of lesbian material added in)where some of the ladies are wearing little or no panties at all, just to please the guys in the audience, and to make matters even worse, the viewing audience who are tuning into or going to see these matches are not only the adults, but its target general audience that makes up for its massive ratings..CHILDREN.
That's right children(young boys between the ages of 8 to 16)are the primary audience and some of these wrestlers are looked upon as idols....yeah,I said it,as idols to whom they worship...Out of all the wrestlers that kids looked upon, the number one wrestler that serves as a role model to these kids these days in none other than WWE superstar John Cena. The fan mail this guys gets comes for kids who want to be like him,and I think he is a great role model for kids.
The rest of them? Nothing but a bunch of steroid
folks who basically talk a lot of trash in front of kids and not to even mention thinking one can whup the other, but get their brains beat out of them each week but with another advisary to blunt them to pieces. And I totally agree with that.

Absolutely! Just look at the evolution of it. I first started watching wrestling back in the days of Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka and Bob Backlund. Look at what it is today...it's horrid.

Then again, it also reflects societal standards quite accurately.
