Is it 11.3 one way? If so you need to double it and multiply by the number of days:
11.3 x 2 x 5 x 41 = 4633 miles per year

Next figure your mileage per litres.
230 miles / 30 litres = 7.6667 miles / litre

Finally, your total consumption is a division:
4633 mi / 7.6667 mi/l = 604 litres per year (~133 imperial gallons)

Using your example of 95p per litre, that would be around 604 x 0.95 = £573.80.

It sure adds up to a lot, doesn't it! And this doesn't include any recreational driving you might do.

If it takes you 11.3 miles to get you to college, I assume it is also 11.3 miles back. If you do this 5 times a week, for 41 weeks a year, you would travel 4633 miles per year. You will need 604.3 Litres of petrol to make these journeys, per 41 week year.

(22.6 x 5) x 41 = 4633 - miles per year

4633/ 230 =(20.14) x 30 = 604.3 - litres of petrol per 41 week year

Therefore if petrol is 95p per litre, in a 5 day week/ 41 week year, you would use £574.08 of petrol.
Hope this helped xxx

assuming two-way journey per day,a five day
week and 41 week year-no mid-term holiday

distance travelled per year
=11.3*2*5*41= 4633 miles

30 litres gives you a 230 miles drive

therefore fuel consumption= 30*4633/230
= 604.3 litres
the fuel costs 95p /litre

therefore total fuel cost for a year's work

=0.95*604.3= £574.09

you stay in at night and don't go out

good luck to you

i hope that this helps

per day you drive 22.6 miles,
per week 22.6 * 5=113 miles
per year 113 * 41= 4633 miles . This is how much you drive per year.

If the petrol has risen over .95 dollar per litre:

You know that 230 miles is covered by 30 litres
Hence 4633 miles will be covered by 4633 * 30/230 = 604.3 litres of petrol

Therefore, 604.3 * .95 dollar = 574.085 dollars is the extra money you spend due to the rise in price.

Also your petrol consumption per year is 604.3 litres

11.3 x 5 = 1 weeks worth
to be x by 41 to give 41 weeks worth of mileage
The whatever fig. you get here x by whatever the petrol is will give you total price and consumption for the full 41 weeks.
