At first and traditionally we had "intelligence" curtly; after that they gave us "emotional intelligence"; now they are selling books about "social intelligence"; what's next ?

As is usually the case with these things, there's no set number. Howard Gardner is a psychology professor who specializes in "multiple intelligences" - if you're interested, I'd read his work for more. I think the thing that gets a lot of people confused is that the word "intelligence" is often used to mean "skill" or "competence." In other words, if you're good at handling social situations, you could be described as having "social intelligence."

It is the same thing, people just aren't intelligent enough to read a book on the broad section and make their own decisions. They things are more official if they are written.
