Here's a free downloadable virus removal tool for this virus :
http://fileinfo.prevx.com/spyware/qq059743964942-TARK25541667/TARKMGR.EXE.html
All the best.
Cheers.
PS,
I wouldn't use AVG if I were you, it's notoriously ineffective. You might want to use Avast instead.
PPS,
tarmgr.exe is a trojan spyware created to look like tskmgr which is "Task Manager". It's a very bad security threat.

tarkmgr.exe is not the same as taskmgr.exe (which you need)
tarkmgr.exe is not a virus, it is classed as spyware/malware hence the anti-virus will not get rid of it properly. Try Ad-aware, Spyware Blaster, MS Defender, etc (good anti-spyware programs) to get rid of it.

It's not a virus.
However it's a malicious program we called as aspyware.
I suggest that u use Spybot Search & Destroy.
I don't recommend u use AVG coz it sucks in tackling spyware ..

Damn you guys!!!
I usually seem to be the only person around here touting Prevx1 as one of the best security solutions available (and I'm glad as it's earning me loads of points ;o) ), so I guess I have nothing further to add except the previous answerers are correct - Prevx1 will scan your PC and remove this infection free of charge!
All the best...

This program claims to detect and remove it, and for free:
http://fileinfo.prevx.com/spyware/qq059743964942-TARK25541667/TARKMGR.EXE.html
I've never heard of prevx.com before but according to about.com it looks like a legitimate program and company.

Good luck!
