I admit, what competition does it have, as I think its the ONLY hockey movie ever made, but what a classic!
Long live the immortal Brothers hanson!
What great one-liners!

I'll have to watch it tonight, as its been a good long year since I saw it
(we watch it every year at the beginning of Hockey season).

Don't you love the part where the Hanson
Brothers pull off a Triple Clothesline, as
they gather together like the four horsemen
to gang tackle and knock on their a s s every opposing player in sight!

Though decried by much of the NHL upon release - many league higher ups felt fans would lump the brawl-filled 1970s NHL with the brawl-filled minor league featured in the film - the movie is still a staple on NHL buses and team charters. It's not uncommon for NHL players born years after the movie's release to name it as their favorite movie. In locker rooms, players refer to reporters who write an untrue rumor with conviction as "Dickie Dunn."

Great movie... I actually saw it at the the theater when I was a kid.

Worst movie: Slapshot 2. I recall pulling it out of my DVD player 1/3 of the way though and snapping it in two.

An absolute classic in every way. I put the DVD in about once a year or so, and even though I know it by heart, I still laugh out loud.

Miracle is a great story, but not as good of a 'hockey' movie as Slapshot.

I am so glad no one mentioned that Rob Lowe movie, I think I would have puked.

This is far and away the best Hockey movie ever!

Sure Miracle was good for what it was.

But the guy that mentioned the Mighty Ducks? Get a clue.

Believe it or not, Slapshot shaped a generation of Hockey fans.

Slap shot is hands down the greatest hockey movie ever.

Here is a list of some more
Miracle
Mighty Ducks (1,2, and 3)
Mystery, Alaska
Happy Gilmore (yes, it's about golf mostly, but the hockey referneces are amazing)

Come on, give Rob Lowe and Patrick Swayze some credit. Youngblood was a decent movie about a kid in the minors

It is certainly not the only hockey movie ever made. Just off the top of my head I can think of the Mighty Ducks movies and Miracle. My vote would go with Miracle.

Was a good movie but the strip ruined it.The rest of the movie was great but that was about as funny as a Petticoat Junction rerun.
