A set of conjoined twins was delivered yesterday in Vancouver Canada. Parents named them Krista and Tatiana. They are connected at the head and share portions of their brains which will make separation hard if not impossible.
It's a tough decision, but would you carry to term knowing you were carrying siamese twins, especially when there was small chance of their being separated?

Hi auld mom,
There has been great documentation on another set of cojoined twins that were joined at the head who live a fulfiling life. They have since been separated and are doing fine now though were together for more thatn 18 years!
Who knows what scientific advancement may take place that might be able to help these girls do the same, They have to at least be given a chance- they are still human with life and feelings and have done so for many months already!
No each life is precious, you never know what they may end up doing in life but you can bet they will inspire alot of people just because they are:)

No i wouldn't the chance of those children living is pretty much 2% especially being joined at the head and sharing a brain. Even so, they would never be able to lead a normal life. Termination would be the best thing you could do for them

I think it really depends on the mother and if they feel like they can handle the problem. Doctors told my husband and I that our daughter had a chance to born with Downe Syndrome and if we wanted to get an abortion we should go out of state for it. My husband and I were horrified. Of course we didn't get the abortion and our daughter was born on April 18Th 2005. She has some issues and needs to see doctors for Asthma and seizures but she doesn't have Downes. Would I abort her knowing then what I know now? No way, she perfect to me no matter what, and that is how I think the parents feel about their daughters. No matter what they are perfect to their parents.

I would terminate. It would be too hard on everyone. I'd want my children to lead as normal as a life as possible and being conjoined at the head..well..I cant see that happening.

my view on the subject would be, if there was no danger for the babies and they could not be separated, I would leave it alone. babies conjoined is better than no babies. My wife was pregnant and had placenta previa....... dr. told her there was a chance of losing the baby do you want to abort? My wife said I will take the chance God gave me this baby for a reason. Well I would say that risk should be taken to separate them. Just imagine the kind of life the kids would live if they will grow up, sharing common head. Its better to separate them. God forbid if they will die then it would be better then living a life with common head. Place yourself there and then judge my answer

I would have them. I cant imagine having an abortion and later on feeling the guilt over it. Even if there was a small chance of separation.

I wouldn't abort! who knows what this could bring to the world! The babies could help doctors make great strides in the medical field and even if they lived together for the rest of their lives, maybe their condition would inspire them and the people around them to do something kind for someone in a difficult situation.

Yes you carry them. God gave those kids that fate and wishes them to do something with their lives you dont take that away what if you were a conjouned twin dont you still need a life and companionship.

I am against abortion, but I think in this case you would have to put yourself in these babies situation. What's it going to be like when they get older? What would the odds be of seperating them? What would be the percentage of survival for both Girls? No-one really knows I don't think. If I was in this situation then yes as much as it would pain me I would get an abortion.
