Last year we went to Bemidji, Minnesota trick or treating. It was HORRIBLE. It's gotta be one of the worst places in the country to go.
Throw out the weather. Bemidji is cold and you do have to wear mits, hats and a winter jacket over your costume. I don't mind that so much.
BUT, most of the houses there aren't decorated. Most of the houses are NOT handing out candy and in fact, the people are hiding in their rooms with their lights off. We actually walked 3 blocks in one area and ONLY ONE house was giving out candy!
You could walk 10 miles in Bemidji and not even get half a bag of candy. It's ridiculous.
One house had a family come to the door when kids came up and tell them they didn't celebrate Halloween. Come on! They go to the house 100 times that night? They can't do something else? Set a bowl of candy by the door!
1 guy was so drunk in his house he just flipped people off.
Another house used Halloween to spread their religious propaganda! GEEZ!

The thing with bemidji isn't religion so much. It's a big college town. I think the college kids not wanting give back what they got when they were kids - FUN, is the biggest reason why Bemidji is so bad for trick or treating.

Compton, Ca.
Too much violence. It happens on a regular day so it will be worse on Halloween Night. I live near by Compton, and a lot of their residents go to other cities to ask for candy. So if the city's own resdients go somewhere else, you know the city is dangerous and bad.

I'm originally from S-Africa. No Halloween there, just religious propaganda. I mean people there believed the gummi bears in courage the use of drugs and I once had someone tell me: "Do you know if you change the P with a D and put it behind the K, Pokemon becomes OK Demon!"
Yes, and Santa Claus is an anagram for Satan Clause!
Got, don't go Trick or Treating anywhere in SA.

ATHENS, OHIO
Rioting partiers at an annual Athens Halloween bash started streetfights, lit couches on fire and threw bottles at officers during what police called "the worst event to date."
Athens police Chief Rick Mayer said police arrested 66-people overnight Saturday and responded to nearly 20-fights and at least five fires.
Another 15 suspects were arrested Friday.
During one fight, police say a man's leg was slashed to the point it might require amputation.
The man stabbed was one of two men attacked when they tried to stop another man from assaulting a woman, police said.
The second man coming to the woman's aid was stabbed repeatedly in the chest, and remained in stable condition Sunday with a collapsed lung, according to police.
An officer was assaulted when he arrived at the fight. He was treated at a hospital and released.
A rape on Ohio University property was also reported, and officers in investigated several thefts.
"This event was far and away the worst event to date," said Chief Rick Mayer in a prepared statement. "It stretched and broke the ability of the department to respond to the needs of the public."
Police say unusually warm weather brought a crowd to the event considerably larger than previous years. No crowd estimate was available though.
The Ohio University does not sponsor the annual street parties, with drinking, outdoor bandstands and costume parties, that draw thousands downtown in the campus town 65-miles southeast of Columbus, Ohio.

bad experience it sounds like.
Chicago sucks. You have to go to parties for fun. No one really passes out candy.
Last year I had 5 boxes of Taffy Apples I passed out. I was the only person on my block passing candy out. I had to yell out to people that I was passing out candy. Granted people are probably pretty scared when people passes taffy apples out but I spent a lot of money trying to make up for the sorry suckers on my block. Just go to a party.
