I will agree provided your solution is only for small time dealers. The traditional Public Hanging is more appropriate for the bigger fish.

The law should take all their ill gotten gains off them and give it to some charities that actually try to put right the harm the drug dealers and their putrid stock have done. Then publicly flog them as well as rubbing salt in the cuts. That would make them think twice about turning up at some of the Schools gates and trying to corrupt our kids.

the problem is this, while there is a want/need for a particular drug, there will always be someone there to obtain and distribute that drug should another dealer get imprisoned.

the solution is to fight it from the source but this is such a large business that it would be near on impossible to stop all drug preperation.

i say to the government that as long as people lack a decent quality of life then drugs will be used to fill the gap where true happinness should be

They should be made to take their own medicine (in an increased dose) with no medical assistance. That'll learn 'em!

I'll admit, they're not totally to blame. The junkies choose to start on drugs, but the dealers are not blameless. There would be no way in hell that I could be a dealer, or a tobacconist etc (previous answer) for that matter. they are responsible for the junkies as much as the drug manufacturers are. More so, I think, for persuading people to try their "produce". I have heard that many dealers offer the "first try free" to hook people in. They're scum in my eyes.

harsh, but probably fair. They currently risk being put in prison and that doesn't stop them so perhaps cutting off the supplies to the country (i.e. Afghanistan) would be a more productive way of eradicating drug crime-the powers that be never seem to get the Mr Big's, just the minnows.

Hmm - interesting. Dealing drugs is illegal, unlike McDonalds, smoking and alcohol drinking. And kids are targetted. If they can't resist smoking or sex, how can we expect them to resist something as "cool" as drugs?????
I don't know about the branding, but defiitely I'll agree with the public flogging.
People can repent of selling drugs, but not if they're branded. At least a flogging means you hide the scars with a shirt.

In that case should bar tenders or shop keepers be flogged for turning people into alcoholics?

Should the people who work at MacDonals be flogged for making people fat and ruining their lives?

Should tobacco suppliers be flogged for giving people lung cancer?

Should we flog people who work in bookies for turning people into gambling addicts?

I am in complete and total disagreement with your comments. Everyone blames the drug dealers but what about the druggies themselves, are they totally blameless?

.....Yes Drugs may be illegal, but smoking, alcohol, Macdonalds, gambling does just as much if not more damage. Its about time people started taking responsibility for their own actions. Thats my point.

Yes. I had a life as close to perfect as one could hope for until a drug dealer started giving my husband free samples. I lost my husband to the drug. I lost my marriage. I lost my beautiful home. I and my children will struggle, but we escaped.
I think DEA employees that don't go after them shold be flogged too.
