Now you've opened a can of worms.
When I went off to college (more than a few years ago) I intended to go to law school and eventually pursue a career in politics. (I was already politically active and off to a good start) Long-story-short, I came to the realization that I really didn't want that after all. I dropped out of school and started several years of drifting through jobs as various as pumping gas, selling shoes, manufacturing, running a cigar shop, and moving furniture. Whatever paid the bills.
Then, on a lark, I sent my resume and writing samples to a local newspaper, and now I write for a living.
I guess you never know.

I am a qualified beauty therapist and body piercer, but after breaking my arm I went into reception work, it has its good sides and bad sides, and sometimes I feel pretty worthless doing it. On the plus side I get paid about 4 times more than I did in the salons, so I can afford a nicer place to live now. I don't think I will do this forever though, I would like to study alternative therapies and Indian head massage

Um - well, yes. I trained as an electrical engineer, then went to seminary, then decided Christianity is a farce, so I became a government employee and then a registered nurse. I may decide what I really want to do when I finally grow up!

I was going to be a printer, after doing that for 8 years I am now in a white collar job.
I love it.
More money, way less work, nothing physical, and I don't get dirty.

Yes I originally worked at my chosen career then began to wonder why I chose it. I changed and I'm happy now.

I have a degree in accounting and work as a medical technologist! Go figure! Although the accounting does come in handy with my farm and my husband's construction business.

I was going to be a pretty, pretty princess or a ballerina...but reality hit somewhere and I realized that ain't going to happen for someone nick-named "Julie Jello", so I thought maybe Jello wrestling could be my thing. Still hasn't happened. I'm such a looser now, thanks for pointing that out. I think I'll just go to bed and cry.
