It brought positive national attention to the plight of African Americans and created solidarity among blacks and sympathy among whites. The early Civil Rights Movement battles were actually won in the courtroom with cases like Sweatt v. Painter and Brown v. Board of Education. But the bus and restaurant boycotts gained the movement attention and supporters, putting pressure on politicians to change the laws.

Sounds like someone is taking Comp 2! Civil Disobedience is such a wordy peice of literature.

it's like when people tried to violate laws,
specifically segregation laws
that didn't allow blacks to eat at certain places;
they would go there and try and get arrested.
that is civil disobedience.
violating laws that you disagree with;
it gets you arrested.

civil disobedience is another way of saying protest.
