Why do 4-wheelers have right-handed steering in India whereas it is left-handed in western countries?

Because those in America and Europe drive on the wrong side of the road.... Everywhere else it's "Right hand Drive"

they drive on the other side of the road...opposite to the US...its a safety issue.
