Her water hadn't broke yet but she was spotting. Did you spot & does that mean things will progress??

spotting a little is common when you are about to have a baby...did she lost her mucus plug? maybe that's it....I'm glad she went to the doc's and I'm glad you are such a good friend to be concerned. She'll be fine. Best of wishes to your friend.

It is possible that things are on the way, you can deliver 2 weeks either side of the due date. Hospital is definately the best place for her though. Just give her a call or a visit, hospital can be a very lonely place when you are stuck there for any time.

Get ready to visit her in the hospital and HOLD her bundle of joy!! Spotting is the begining stages...She should loose her mucus plug soon..if she hasn't already...Your water breaking isn't the ONLY sign of labor...the doctor had to break my water during the birth of my first son...(I have 1 daughter and 3 sons)~but I had been spotting and achy ~

Spotting could be her losing her plug....it could also mean she had sex recently.
I never progressed no matter what we tried...I got to a 5 and stayed there until they did a C-Section 29.5 hours later.

She is probably losing her mucus plug.It is also caused by a recent cervical exam

It's just another one of those 'signs'. Can be, might not be. No one knows for sure. Just as well read tea leaves.
