I just read an article on the BBC which said that Football Firms are making a comeback. Since I don't live in the UK I have not heard or seen any evidence of this. For those of you who are UK residents, what do you think? True or false? Also, in your personal opinions, which Firms have the reputation of being the top dogs? A buddy of mine says the Headhunters, but I disagree. Thoughts?

I think it is probably just a reflection of the fact that our society is becoming more fractured and violent in general. People are becoming xenophobically fearful of those who would threaten their way of life and as such tend to adhere strongly to those more similar to themselves. Football firms arethe ultimate modern expression of tribalism, and ergo tribal warfare...

Did firms ever go away ? I live in Co Durham we dont have firms really but what we do have is violent rivelries between sets of fans take for instance my team Darlington we have a bad reputation with Hartlepool United who they are playing for the first time in a few seasons this weekend, already the internet message boards are buzzing with people asking each other to meet them at certain pubs, outside of Hartlepool for drinks and after match entertainment....
I always thought the intercity mob had bad reps.
