What is it that you do to make the world a better place?

This is not an accusation, just a harmless query.

I'm a little embarrassed to say that I don't do much in the way of donating time or money to charities or that sort of thing. That's what most people would think of first. But...I try my best to be true to myself and my friends and family, in that while I may be a 'smarty pants' or 'cheeky' sometimes, I always have a smile on my face and I try to encourage and take care of the people I love most. Some might view that as selfish, but my theory on what I do is: "Pay it Forward"

I also feel compelled to pray for certain things above others, like the Indonesia tsunami and other disasters. Today for instance, it's the California wildfire...I just feel moved to pray for the people affected in general, as a whole. I don't know how else to describe that :)

I help people..........

if they are sick....I make sure an ambulance and first responders go help them

if their house is on fire, I make sure that two fire depts are sent to help them save their family members, property, and neighboring houses. I also send the electric company and gas company to turn off the utilities so that no one gets hurt.

If someone is in a Motor Vehicle Accident.......I make sure the rescue truck is enroute in case they are trapped in the vehicle, I make sure an ambulance and first responders are enroute to help stabilize them and their loves ones, I make sure the fire dept is sent to do crowd control, and Iast......I send the State Trooper to do the necessary paperwork........or arrest someone if they were drunk and ran into your car injuring you or your family members.

If you are being beaten.....I will send the police and an ambulance.

If you are scared--I will stay on the line with you .......and I will send a patrolman to check your yard and go through your house to make sure no one is in there,

That is what I do,

but that is also what millions of other dispatchers and 9-1-1 operators do.

We are there to help whenever you call us.

It is a rewarding job.

and at times it is a thankless job.....You get very few thank you's.
Never the less; it is a job that I will miss dearly........since
I will be retiring in a few days.

We donate several hundred dollars a year to a local animal shelter, as well as make routine visits to play with the animals.
Poor little pooches, they deserve good homes.
We also donate $100 worth of toys every year to Toys For Tots.
And we don't claim any of it as a deduction at tax time.
That just doesn't seem right.
My wife is also an avid recycler.

I make the world a better place by being the person you can count on. Everyone needs someone you can trust to tell you the truth and to do the things they say. A very hard and sometimes thankless job.

I vote. I Recycle. I question racist attitudes. I foster rescue dogs. I volunteer. I pay taxes. I pick up trash.
I treat everybody equally. I hug. I plant flowers and trees. I don't kill the people I think about killing. I smile a lot.

I smoke herb, so that way I'm much calmer in dealing with people of all kinds. Otherwise there'd be a whole lot more violence in the news at the hands of yours truely.

i give my clothes to charity to help others i work and support myself and family i bring up my child so he doesnt turn in to a hooligan and harm others. i recycle to help the planet. i help the wild animals when i can eg feed the birds foxes leave water out for them
