You refuse to believe that there is a connection because you are against the war on terror and the war in Iraq. You libs seem to think President Bush is an imperialist. President Bush is a freedom fighter in the truest sense of the word. And freedom is worth fighting for! Hundreds of terrorists stream into Iraq from Iran and Syria every day to take up arms against what they see as a Western invasion. The fact is the Coalition forces have liberated that country from an oppressive, brutal and murderous regime. Regime Change - look it up. President Clinton used the same words when speaking about Iraq. It's not a concept thought up by Karl Rove to make his oil buddies rich. Senators Kerry and Biden have talked the talk too. Despite what the NYT, Howard Scream, Moveon.org and Congresswoman Pelosi tell you to think - the 9-11 Commission did in fact find links between Iraq and al-Qaida. READ THE REPORT!!! Don't regurgitate what the NYT headlines.

They don't. The reason why they mix this rhetoric is to purposely mislead. The GOP knows that they get high numbers in polls for "fighting terror," but that they get low numbers in polls for "the war in Iraq." Therefore by linking the two they hope to convince more people to support the Iraq war.

It was a successful strategy and worked for a long time. When we invaded Iraq Bush had HUGE approval numbers. But now that several National Security Estimates have been published by Bush's own government showing that Iraq has actually increased incidents of terrorism, it has become much harder to make this case.

It is the misinformation that they receive from the right wing host of various media. Rush Limbaugh preaches daily that the war on terror is being fought in Iraq. He will go on to say that if we are fighting it there then we are not defending it here and repuglicans follow his show like it was a religion. The hate he preaches shows up in this forum daily almost minute to minute. That why they are convinced that the war on terror is being fought in Iraq.
