I don't really believe it is possible. I liked parts of the movie, although it was a bit over blown. Still, the idea intriques me. Like the short story by Ray Bradbury( inspiration for the film "The Butterfly effect.") it sets up possibilties of changing history. If you could go back in time, would you?

An excellent question, as usual! "SiT" is one of my favorite movies, although I agree that it sometimes seems overdone. You might like to take your wife to Mackinac Island; the Grand Hotel is even grander than it looks in the movie..."The Butterfly Effect" was a good one too, despite Ashton Kutcher...But I digress.
There are a lot of things I'd like to change about the history of the world. But then I think..given the chance, even with hindsight, could I really change things for the better, even in my own life? I try my damnedest to keep hubris to a minimum.
Time travel is an intriguing possibility. It's the basis for some of the best science fiction. Even if we could only SEE the past as it really was (as in Arthur C. Clarke's "The Light of Other Days"), it would be a revolutionary accomplishment.
Someday, someday...What we DO know is that the future will be stranger than anything we can presently imagine. Think what life would be like for a person of, say, 200 years ago who suddenly was brought forward in time and set down in any city on present-day Earth. It would be overwhelming.

I would go into the future, where it is propheted that humans and animals live as one. They will acheive 0 point population, it will be possible to live underground and in space, and the world will become green and furtile once more. Sounds much better than right now, don't you think?

I don't think it's possible at this time here on Earth. But I have always wanted to go back to the days of Abraham Lincoln....simpler times, honest work, more honest people. Since my father died though, going back to when I was a little girl and starting over to have him back in my life would be....awesome.....

I think there is a way to do it.

I would, but for minor things.

If you change something big, who knoww what will happen?

(And I know that even a small change could cause problems)
