To begin with, to even be considered to be a professional westler one has to go through a tough and enduring phase. When you go to wrestling school, your first days and weeks consist of extreme exercises. Among these exercises includes hundreds of squats per day. It is not uncommon for one to pass out and/or throw up because of these squats. This is mainly to build up one's endurance, and to weed out the ones that are not mentally, or physically able to take the pressure. Although professional wrestling is a "staged act", the wrestlers are, and must, be in superb shape, mentally and physically. As in any other sport, there are steroid abuse, but, there are also persons that work extremely hard at strength and endurance. This includes working out, and diet. To answer your question, it is not uncommon for a wrestler to bench press in excess of 400 pounds plus. It basically depends on individual desire, dedication, and yes, for some, the use of performance enhancing drugs, although you can't classify "ALL" wrestlers under using steroids as some may think!

When they came on tour to Melbourne Australia a few years ago, THE ROCK was bench pressing huge amounts well above what the strongest lifters in the gym were lifting... Instructors were amazed at how much he along with others were lifting so YES they are strong.

You only have to see how much they weigh and pick each other up easily to body slam etc Yes they are strong..!!

If you've watched Bret Hart: Wrestling with Shadows, you will catch a small glimpse of him in the gym. He lifts nearly 100 dumbbells on an inclined bench to work his arms and chest. I can only go about 40-50lbs and that's really trying. Bret Hart is very strong and it shows.

they are VERY, VERY, VERY strong, I am a semi-pro wrestler, nowhere near as strong or tuff as the WWE guys, but still I can benchlift over 250 pounds. They can lift up to 600 pounds- roughly equivalent to about 280kilos.

They're actually stronger than they come across on WWE television.
Check out their profiles in Wikipedia or look up particular ones you're interested in the net.
