I prefer rio, but John Terry is better now. He is great for his club, he even had to slap on the gloves and keep in the Reading match, and for country? Remember in the World Cup this year against Trinidad and Tobago (my Country) Stern John's headed the ball, and it was mere centimetres over the line when John Terry blocked it out, I wont forget that, i was pretty angry but i will accept that he is a superb defender, probably in the top 5 in the World. He's captain of England! U dont become captain if u suck!

sorry but it has to be rio, john terry is a good defender but he is over rated he shouldnt be the england captain either

john terry looks good because the players around him leave him with pretty much nothing to do,

rio has been pretty much consistent thru out his whole career and is by far a whole heap better

Depends on the scheme they play in. JT is a scouser who works well within a structured system, but would fall short if he were in a more free flowing system. Rio is smooth as silk and can adjust more readily to the surrounding game. Rio's downfall may be that he cannot trust the structure he's in as he would rather play to his own strengths. So, the answer is that they are probably equal in many ways. Considering the X-factors, I would have to go with JT as his leadership qualities have gotten him the Captaincy of the Three Lions- though they haven't won since he got the armband. As a Reds fan, it pains me to say JT is the one.

John Terry by a long shot!. Ferdinand is not the defender he was before the "missed" drugs test.....

having both in a crew will be a disaster :) ferdinand on your crew? the goalkeeper must be careful even as ferdinand passes decrease back ! and ferdinand went to reformatory a set of situations :) Terry on your crew? with even the worst keeper in objective wouldnt be apprehensive if the were given terry with them...all the saves the international cup one...the champions league very last...the courageous dive contained in the carling cup very last ! and being englands captain ! i'd definatly %. terry !
