check coolant level. there is a valve that lets water into heater core...Thermostat could be bad.

If there are no leaks and the fluid level is ok, I would check the heater control valve under the dash, usually vacuum operated and will not let the hot water into the heater.

Cheap way to check yourself is with a radiator flush.
Warm up engine per instructions & set heat on high.
May take a while if heater core is gunked up or other blockage in .
heater hoses.
If you start getting heat.. that's it.
Changing hoses & thermostat can't hurt on older car while your'e at it.
Good luck

start by checking coolant level
if level is good start and run vehicle
and watch temp gauge vehicle should
have a 195 deg thermostat in it if temp
gauge is going to normal area then there
may be a issue with temp mode door which
may result in taking vehicle to a repair shop

It also could be the heater controler. The knob you turn for hot or cold air. It is controlled electronicly. I'd go in that direction.
