It's so very hard to pick one favorite thing. I love the food, family, tree, singing, wrapping the gifts, and the tradition. We have a tradition that our little girl (who is 11) puts the star on the tree every year. And there's a Santa collection that goes in the front window - always. I love getting all of the "Christmas stuff" down from the attic and pulling it out and remembering stories about past Christmases that are related to the Christmas decor.

BUT - I think my favorite thing is the charity shopping - knowing that somebody will have a better Christmas because of it - and using it as a "teaching time" for my child to have an understanding of philanthropy and embrace it.

Wow - all that - and I'm not even a Christian!

Remembering the birth of my Savior. The scent of the Christmas tree. The decorations. The food. Family reuniting. Giving someone the PERFECT present, and seeing their face when they open it. Children laughing.

THAT IT ONLY COMES ONCE A YEAR.

I HAVE NEVER PARTICULARLY CARED FOR CHRISTMAS.......I TEND TO GET DEPRESSED ABOUT THIS TIME OF YEAR ACTUALLY......BUT I HAVE TO PUT ON A HAPPY FACE AND PLAY THE PART FOR MY CHILDREN'S' SAKE. I REALLY THINK THAT I'M GETTING BETTER (THE ACTING IS BETTER ANYWAY) BUT I STILL THINK THE WHOLE THING SUCKS!!!

(PLEASE DON'T THINK THAT I'M SAYING THAT THE "TRUE MEANING" OF CHRISTMAS SUCKS -- THAT'S THE ONLY PART THAT I ACTUALLY CARE ANYTHING ABOUT. IT'S THE REST OF THE "HOOP-LA" THAT TROUBLES ME.)
