I have friends that get mad if I don't talk to them in a few days. Then I have relatives that want to stop by every other day. They used to come unanounced, but I managed to get that nipped in the bud. They also call back to back while leaving messages, as if I woulndnt have known they called. Why are people like this and how do you get them to stop. I'm married and have children so I'm very busy. My husband gets upset about the situation.

I've also had people invite themselves along which was suppose to be a husband/wife/kids only thing. And I didn't know how to say no so they came along.

I have no clue as to why people are like this but I do know it drives me absolutely CRAZY. I have also come across friends and relatives who expect me to be at their beck and call, but Heaven forbid if the shoe is on the other foot and they are busy...then it is a totally different story. I always maintain kindness as I try to explain that sometimes I just have other obligations. But there are still those that become offended no matter how kind I try to be. My mom is VERY clingy, to the point where I have actually said to her..."I am sorry mom, but I am not here on earth to entertain everybody" I have tried to get her involved in other things, but she still insists on having me for her every need. I suggest that you just continue to be firm but remain kind. And offer to give them time at specific times when you are available. Good Luck

There is a very thin line btwn users and clingy people
Most pple who cling to u dont cling for nothing they get something out of u.
May be u should stop giving them anything when they stop by n they'll sudenly diappear into thin air u'll be wondering where they all went
I think u n ur hubby r doing well financially otherwise u wouldnt be having so many family n friends all over u

I have a sister that is that way. She can not live without talking to everyone in a day. I have stopped answering the phone, so this has cut back on the everyday calls. This is a touch situation, so this has to be handled with care.

Yes! I have a girlfriend like that. It took me years to get her to stop calling me two to three times a day - now we just email. I'm married (she is not) and I've tried explaining that my marriage is my top priority now - she doesn't understand that and probably never will. She actually expected that even after marriage I would continue to see her 3 times a week. When it hasn't happened, she is at a real loss. So hang in there!

I had a friend that would get mad at me if we hadn't talked in days and who was jealous of my boyfriend.
I eventually ended the friendship, I saw that it wasn't a real friendship, she just wanted me to be her friend at her convienence. My true friends, we could go weeks without talking, and one day just pick back up where we left off!
Just re-evaluate your friendships, your husband and family are more important. And just tell the family that your busy and to call before they show up!

Simply tell them you are very busy and will get back to them as soon as you can, I guess some people don't have a life of their own and need one.
