Most street crimes reported in the UK media (rapes, muggings, shootings, knife attacks, etc.) seem to involve young black males. Is this twisted media reporting, a manifestation of a racist police force or is there a social reason in the black community? As an example, how many street crimes do you hear of where the perpetrator was of oriental origin?

Important that you use the words reported in the media and you suspect that it is twisted. I have no idea of the real answer to your question but I congratulate you on at least asking it in a most sensible manner

You hit the nail on the head when you said "most crimes REPORTED" are young black males.

Its like when rottweilers attack people - it happens every day but just doesn't get reported - the minuet an attack makes it into the media EVERYONE else jumps on the band wagon and reports their cases. The media then makes it look like for some reason dogs have suddenly started attacking people accross the country.

The media controls the country and is controlled by powerful people so they can change the way their country seems to be running. The government have been known to release information to the media and have it published before the event takes place such as if they are about to arrest a drugs baron - they are that confident they will get their man that they do the press release when they haven't even got them in custody (see "Smoke" by Phil Sparrowhawk)

Think it depends on where u live. Inner Cities have a higher proportion of unemployed black youngsters. They r disadvantaged from an early age and so their anger which has been building up since early childhood for various reasons has to be released somehow. I guess i am lucky cos where i live crime is much lower than the cities so dont have to face this problem. I tend to look at it as not the colour of someone perpetrating street crimes but the areas and the way ppl have to live etc.

Before I go any further please let me say that I am no way racist or prejudiced. I was taught that we are all the same, we have the same blood running through our veins and we all eat and do things the same. We may have different methods as to how we go about our daily lives and all that but essentially, we are all the same.
I think that it's that way partly because of the media because we only see what they allow us to see to a degree, you know, what will get the ratings up. And I think it's because some young black men have made the unfortunate choice to do things like that. It would be unfair to say that they do it because they are ignorant, because all of them are not, also unfair to say would be that they do it because they want to fit in because all of them do not.
There are various and important reasons why young black males, as well as any other group, do what it is that they do. We should not readily condemn them, not to say that we should let them or their actions go unpunished either, but we should at least try to understand the motivation behind it and see if it can be changed. Yes, there are some groups that we would like to see put out of existence but that is what educates us to the fact that some things need changing. In order to stop what is going on, we must first understand it and how it works against us before we can come up with a solution to move against it.

Criminality is an inherited trait and blacks, by and large, never evolved to be successful in industrialized societies.

Here in the U.S. young black males are maybe 3-4% of the population yet they committ over 50% of the homicides.

Blacks in the U.S. engage in robbery and violent crime at a rate of greater than 300% that of whites. This multiple has remained more or less unchanged since the '50s.

Where are these streets? In the U.S.? That would be for three reasons:
1. Lots of guns available in the U.S.
2. Social disharmony among young, Black males who feel left out of the mix.
3. A culture of agression and revenge that is supported by social history and modern pop culture (music, TV and movies).

I'd like to know the source of your (incorrect) information. Did it come from the British Crime Survey or The Sun?

If you look up the statistics, although they can never be 100% accurate, I think you'll find that the majority of street crimes do not involve young black males.

I agree with KLC-30 and the thinker. The media blows is out like it is the worst thing that ever happen, but also the police mostly reports crime that black people commit whereas they don't report much that white people commit.

Also keep in mind many white people are too busy commiting high class crime. Example ENRON.

What a load of tosh.

How many street crimes are committed by black people in totally white areas?

In the UK Census of 2001 approximately 566,000 people classified themselves in the category Black Caribbean. Out of a total UK population of approximately 59 million, this amounted to slightly under 1% of the population. The Census category 'Black Caribbean' fails to distinguish properly between 'African-Caribbean' and 'Asian-Caribbean'. However, given the fact that other Asian groups were not included under the heading 'black' it is reasonable to assume that 'Black Caribbean' in fact corresponds to the category 'African-Caribbean' and that 'Asian-Caribbean' people were assumed by the census bureaucracy to be 'Other'.

The total so-called 'visible minority' population (including South Asians, African, East Asians, Mixed and 'Other') was stated as 7.9% of the UK population (4.6 million) - of which 'Black Caribbean' constituted just 12%. However, another 677,000 people (approximately 1.2% of the UK population) classified themselves as 'Mixed'. The census states that one third of this group have African-Caribbean and 'White' parents - which expands the demographic impact of the African-Caribbean community to about 1.4% of the UK population.

The street crime and antisocial behaviour prevelant in places like Middlesborough, Durham, Oldham, Edinburgh, Preston, and many more, can be directly attributed to young white males.

Out of a total UK poulation of 60million, the black 4.6% cannot be committing all the crime.

its over reporting by the media who have a covert racist agenda.

black people are 3 times more likey to be arrested by the police than a white person which is why on average there are more prosecutions. The lawrence report proved this.
