I had my daughter at 37 weeks and thank god i did!!! She was already 7 pounds and 12 ounces....i had a week before i had her and they all told me that she was only going to be 5 or 6 pounds...if id carried her to term she'd been a 10 pound baby!!!! The only thing wrong with her is she had a low sugar level. I really think that was the doctor and the nurses fault because there supposed to let you feed the baby after you have them. I had her at 7:02 and they didnt try to feed her til almost 11 and thats a long time for a baby to go without food. They had to give her a few sugar bottles and poke her with a needle in the foot to make sure it stablized. It did after we fed her and stuff. We could of went home the next day but I was really depressed...I was 16 the dad left me and i had a brand new baby and had no idea what she needed.. Id never even changed a diaper or fed a baby before. They said I had postpartum and they didnt feel i had bonded with her. So i had to stay a 4 days. Babys born at 37-38 weeks dont go to the icu unless somethings really wrong with them. I'm sure your baby will be fine...Goodluck and CONGRTULATIONS!!!!
Im guess im lucky my daughter never had jaundice....

I delivered my baby when I was 34 1/2 weeks and had a normal delivery a healthy baby boy and we went home 2 days later. It was no different from having my other 2 sons at 39 or 40 weeks. At 37 to 38 weeks the baby is fuly developed and ready to come into the world at any time.

I have had three children and they were all with in those weeks except for one. The two that were born at 37 weeks did not have to go to the NICU they did have a slight case of jaundice and had to go under the lights, other then that they were fine. My other son was born at 32 weeks and did have to spend a month in the hospital before I could bring him home. A pregnancy that last over 37 weeks is considered full term, so you have nothing to worry about. Hope this helped.

Just like Candace, born at 37 weeks, my baby also had jaundice and had to sit under the lights for a bit in the hospital, and we sat outside in the sun when we got home, 4 days later. Also, because he was an emercency c-section, he spent about 28 hours in the NICU with "wet lung" (the fluid hadn't finished getting squeeezed out of the lungs since the baby didn't go through the birth canal). Everything is fine today, though, and he is perfectly healthy.

I delivered one child at 37 1/2 weeks, one at 38 weeks, and one at 36 weeks and 1 day. They were all healthy and we went home the very next day all three times.

I had my son at 37 weeks. He did not have to go to the ICU since his lungs were fully developed but....they did keep him in the hospital for 3 days instead of just 1 like they usually do in military hospitals. Oh I had my son at an Air Force hospital.
He was a bit jaundiced but that's all. They just put him under the UV lamps.

I delivered my baby at 38 weeks. This is a full term baby. He was 10 lbs 12 oz. They took him early because the only thing a healthy baby does in those last two weeks is gain weight(fatten up)As long as your baby is healthy you should go home within 24-48 hours. Good luck!!!

I had my daughter at just over 37 weeks. She was 6lbs. 2oz. Her only problem was that she was a little jaundice but we were able to take care of it at home by placing her in the sunlight. We had to keep going in for about 4 days straight to have her blood work done to check the jaundice but otherwise she was fine. Just a little sleepier than my first child who was 4 days overdue.
