Yes, though positive feelings aren't the best things for a person to always be searching for, especially if I or another person is dieing and knows that there is a cure, though doesn't want to hear the truth about the problem, so then listens to something to take ones mind off of the pain, yet not fixing the very source of the pain or problem. Yes music can bring a little or even a lot of comfort in times of emotional distress, depending on the music. and depending on the need, though I would caution you to remember that humanity and animals aren't the only things out here. there is another world that is called the spirit world, and chants etc. can and will awaken you to a world that you will regret. Now whether or not you believe in one ultimate, supreme being that rules over all. when you play around in the spirit world, not being a believer in Jesus Christ as your Lord and savior, then you will become as one who has been captured on the front-lines of a battlefield and made into a prisoner of some wicked, evil, demons that some how enter into you and posses you, causing you to sometimes scream, or in some way become tormented by them. They are our enemy of our souls I know from other peoples experiences. what you need to do is realize that the internal void of a person will never be filled, or satisfied, or even made whole completely apart from the work of Jesus the Christ, who died on a roman cross, paid a debt he did not owe, because we owed a debt we couldn't pay, then as he promised, He rose again from the dead as the proof of His deity. He can be trusted.

If these things bring joy to you then they work. Anything that creates harmony with the creative force can transform your life in a positive way but only if it works for you. There no practice that can produce a guarantee of positive results because there are no two people who are alike.
