What is the minimum rotor thickness for disc brakes? Does it vary across vehicles or is it standard?

It can vary quite a bit. If you posted your vehicle information, I could have told you what they were. Also you can find it on the rotor around the hub area. Usually requires a little brake cleaner to get off any dirt, but it's there.

it depends on the vehicle - some rotors start off 2x as thick as others and are under specs long before they get to the same thickness. you local parts store should be able to give you specifics for your personal vehicle.

also keep in mind that you can't always turn rotors - sometimes rotors warp and turning them is pointless, it won't get rid of the problem.

chilton's, hayne's, & mitchell maunals all have specifications as well. (sometimes the parts guys don't know how to look up the specs for a vehicle, if there is a service department they will know how)

all have different size brakes...hence different thickness of rotor...i always put in new ones cause the cost is labor..
