Different earrings. Shoes in different colours. Jumper inside out. Skirt the wrong way. Skirt trapped in knickers. Even no knickers on one occasion. Left my handbag on kitchen table, drove to work, looked for it everywhere at work, thought it had been stolen. Put things on the roof of the car, got in car and drove scattering a pile of exercise books behind me. The prototype of the absent minded professor!
It comes from having too many things to think about or to do at the same time.

I went to school 2 hours before I had to be there. The whole walk there I was wondering why there was no one else on the way to school. Also, I was sent home for wearing jeans to work. It was my first day and the person who had interviewed me and given me the job didn't tell me we were not to wear jeans. So, I had to go home and change. I didn't get the mandatory new trainee course until I had worked at the store for about 2 years. I was so glad when I decided to leave that job for a better one.

I have left the house without makeup, but luckily I am such a girly girl that i have a travel case of my mineral makeup in both cars. I have not done the shoe thing since I only have three pairs of shoes, sandals(strap on kind),sneakers, and boots(chunky heel) So its hard to mistake them. But once I went to work wearing a shirt from a previous job. They gave me an extra shirt to put on. Worked at a diner and had a Burger king shirt on. The colors were so simmilar in the dark.

Oh Fran honey...if you don't live in the south, you should come here. No one notices the little things like that here - we have ladies in the EZMart in their nightgowns, slippers, whatever. Once saw a woman in Dillard's in a bikini - just shopping, not a model (and not a figure I'd have put into one, either, but that's me) I once waited behind a woman in a Total gas station/conv store that was wearing a sheer nightie, a thin robe and those terrycloth scuff slippers...at NOON ... and she was buying scratch off lottery tickets, and scratching them. It took her nearly an hour to realize the 20 people behind her might like to pay for their gas and get on with things! (oh, in case you're picturing someone nice looking there...rrrrr...she was middle-aged to older, very wrinkly (yeah, we could tell) and heavy-set. Oh, and a loser, as well, she spent about 60 bucks on scratchoffs and won...NOTHING)

I have forgotten to get dressed and gone in my pajamas. Luckily I worked in a call center at that time!
I've been known to go to the grocery store in my slippers by accident, also.
I was sent home from work once for wearing jeans. Everyone else had jeans on and we were in the back before work, a supervisor went back there, looked at all of us, singled me out and fired me & sent me home.
So not fair!

Yes! When I forgot make up recently people thought I was sick. I walked into work wearing two curlers recently, too. It was long time before anyone mentioned it, too. I have to wear black or tan pants and I wore navy once because I couldn't quite see in the dark getting ready. You are NOT alone!

I never put on make up...
But I once turned up for work when the place was shut down for a public holiday...
Never done the shoes thing though... didn't you limp along as you walked and wonder what on earth had happened to your legs/feet?

Yes, when I'm in a hurry. My job requires a certain colored shoe and one day I arrived in the wrong pair and was asked to leave. Can you believe that. It was just a mistake. Oh well, I have a better paying job now.

I have done the odd shoe thing! So embarrassing. I think if I turned up at work with no makeup on I'd be sent home sick!
