...how do different traffic lights work. For your info I live in london. I've come across pelican, puffin and toucan crossings in the book but it doesn't show how they work in detail or anything. I need to know what is the difference between the 3 types, the sequence the lights go, and where you are likely to find them. I also need to know how the lights work at level crossing. Thanks for all your help.

The differences are:

Pelican - normal pedestrian crossing

Toucan - for bikes and pedestrians to cross (two-can)

Puffin - a crossing for visually impaired pedestrians
