I have never heard this - but I love it! Also, I have 3 pairs of red shoes. Is this what people are thinking when I step out in them?? no wonder I get so much attention when I have them on...

"Red shoes and no knickers" or "All fur and no knickers" are old fashioned expressions describing a person who is very flashy or loud in appearance but is very superficial. In other words someone who is all show and no substance.
