His overall skills are without question, and the way he led the Lakers to a 3-1 lead over the Suns in the playoffs was very special to watch. But when it was there to win, he didn't do it.

Yes not shooting in game 7 to spite people who critisize him for shooting too much was very crappy and made me pretty disappointed. This is because I felt like he had total disregard for the fact that he was punishing his fans in the process. In his defense however I do not know what's it's like to be bashed in the media and called a rapist and go to court and see white people with hang man T shirts, when you didn't even rape a girl.

In a word...NO.

Kobe thinks the mark of a superstar is to be able to take a sorry team, throw them on his back and win games himself...like Jordan used to do before he got decent teammates and before he learned to play within a team concept. So, Kobe tries this and fails, D-Wade tries this and succeeds. That is because there is something innate in a champion that makes him find a way to succeed in victory. You can be as skilled as they come, but if you don't have that killer instinct, that desire, you may as well not even play in the league...there are loads of players who had talent and skill but not the killer instinct of a champion.

I don't quite know about that mental MATURITY but the steady hand of Kobe Bryant is not to be undone! This Phenom embraces pressure while 90% of the league crumbles under it. He's finally got enough pieces around him to make some noise in the 'Offs, don't count him out yet! And I surely hope and pray that he doesn't mature into one of these SAPS!

Probably not, and that's true for so many athletes. And unfortunately, they serve as role models for kids. Thugs who get paid millions to toss a ball and act like "gangstas." Sad.
