NO! The girl in it - Heather Donohue - went onto play a main part in 'Taken', the Steven Speilberg series about alien abduction, a few years later. And I don't think that happened either!

Five Across the Eyes is similar to the Blair Witch Project because of the way it's filmed. Other horror/thriller suggestions: Jeepers Creepers The Orphanage Fingerprints Campfire Tales Urban Legends The Hitcher Joy Ride Quarantine The Exorcism of Emily Rose Fear of the Dark Shutter Slither Dark Water Disturbia Wrong Turn Wolf Creek The Hills Have Eyes

It was NOT real. I guess I know more than most because it was "supposed to have taken place 30 min from where I lived ", and the people who shot it were "students at the local community college" (10 minutes from where I grew up). I guess I take for granted the fact that I KNOW it didn't happen and that I never heard about it (it was never a missing persons' story...). However, I think the fact that the kids who "shot the movie, and died in it" were on Jay Leno is a dead giveaway that it WASN'T REAL! However, I still think it was a decent movie, and if I hadn't already known it was fake, it would have scared the crap out of me!

No, it never happened. I grew up near there, and though I love scary stuff and ghost stories, I never heard anything about it 'til the movie. The creators of the movie made up the story, then created a pretend web site (http://www.blairwitch.com/) that had "historical" information on the "Blair Witch".

There's an interview with David Myrick where he says that they made it up, and that the "filmmakers" in the movie are actors.... That's the link below.

Sorry; the story is totally cool though.

Of course not.
I will tell you that at the time it came out (before getting hugely popular) some people did think it was a local documentary (we live in the same area it was filmed).
Of course, people are moronic, so there you go.

No, it was something I feel that was unusual for the cinema and thus it became overrated quickly. It will barely be remembered in 50 years, unless it develops some cult.

I haven't even watched it. But didn't the makers of the movie came out and say that it wasn't real?
