As said before, sounds like a trapped nerve, try lying on the edge of your bed and let the shoulder blade and arm affected relax towards the floor, try clenching your fist a few times to get your circulation going, this can be done for an out of place shoulder too, try it a few times during the night, good luck x

my arm used to spasm and my right leg still does, the arm thing was a trapped nerve in my shoulder same deal with my leg i just like it...haha
go see a doctor they will advise you best but i'm pretty much betting on a trapped nerve

trapped nerve in neck. See osteopath. If you leave it the spasming will turn into numbness etc.
