Why does everything need to be so politicaly correct?

Because Indians and Blacks expressed their offense at it. I don't know that it's racist, but if a group like that does say they find that kind of costume offensive, it is insensitive.

Similarly, I can't imagine a kid in New York trick-or-treating as one of the September 11th hijackers would get too much candy from anyone.

"Is it now suitable to write down off Dean as an incorrigible racist?" If all or possibly an important area of the claims are authentic, then yeah, i'd agree. Accusation isn't evidence, although, and that i admit i have not followed this mess a lot in any respect, so i do not quite comprehend how a lot evidence there is to diminish back up those claims.

we have let this political correct stuff run so wild and now we can not get a handle on it. just like our civil rights if you let too much be taken away no matter how slow, you will never get it back. now we are facing you cant do this you cant say that because you just might hurt someones feelings. well i say grow the hell up and develop some thicker skin. i am an Indian, yes that's right i said Indian not Native American, and i can handle that word. Hell i have herd my share of jokes concerning my race and i don't go POSTAL (oops there's another one) most of the time i laugh because the are funny and i have a since of humor unlike the people who worship political correctness.

lets not forget that a little over 40 years ago it was ok for a black woman to made to stand up on a bus, so that a white man could sit.
dosent sound so cute now huh?

or how about that in my country women died for the right to vote? i expect that some men of the time thought that was madness.

what seems right or wrong changes over time

What rock did you live under 10 years ago? Just have respect for others, it isn't about political correctness.

Because of an increase in censure by BIG BROTHER. Does political correctness ring a bell?

cause we're all going crazy...
any sicko can come out saying that you are discriminating him/her for reasons that most people find hilarious... but the society must take care of its minorities so he gets his way with it
we have the freedom to do nothing...
i remember the banning of two Tom&Jerry episodes because Tom smokes... and because some guy thought that it might hurt the kids to see that...
i wonder when are they going to censor ymca clips to hide the costumes...

Yes I know. It's not just costumes either, why is it also that the term 'black' is being replaced like 'Baa Baa ..... Sheep' and '.....board' is now a chalk board!! How stupid are things going to get. We don't complain about being called 'White' yet shouldn't that be classed as being called racist too?!!!!!
