Testicular cysts are called epididymal cysts. They are nothing to worry about. If the cyst causes discomfort it can be removed during an outpatient procedure, although there is no guarantee that it will not grow again. One theory is that they occur with increased frequency in male offspring of mothers who used diethylstilbesterol during pregnancy.
If you are really worried about it please see your doctor for reassurance.

Cyst
any abnormal closed cavity or sac, which is lined with epithelium and contains liquid or semisolid material. Cysts may form at virtually any site in the body, and may be congenital or acquired. Acquired cysts may be benign and idiopathic (simple cyst) in origin. Secondary causes include inflammatory disease, (e.g. pancreatic pseudocyst), parasitic infection, (e.g. hydatid disease), neoplasia, (e.g. dermoid cyst) or trauma (e.g. haemorrhage cyst). Imaging findings are extremely variable, reflecting the diverse aetiologies, that can give rise to a cyst. In practice, the major consideration is identifying those lesions which are simple cysts and which require no further imaging or histological evaluation. Criteria commonly used for the diagnosis of simple cysts are described below. These criteria must be applied rigorously, to prevent the misdiagnosis of a cystic malignancy as a simple cyst.

The ultrasound criteria for the diagnosis of a simple cyst are:

I Round or ovoid lesion
II Absence of internal echoes

III Sharply defined wall

IV Presence of acoustic enhancement

The CT criteria are:

I Round or ovoid lesion
II Internal homogeneous attenuation of near water density (under 10 20 HU)

III Lack of measurable thickness of the cyst wall

IV Lack of contrast enhancement

V Smooth interface with the renal parenchyma

The MRI criteria are:

I Round or ovoid lesion
II Internal homogeneous content, with signal characteristics similar to urine, including hyperintensity of T2-weighted images

III Nearly imperceptible wall thickness

IV Lack of contrast enhancement

V Smooth interface with the renal parenchyma

not sure anything causes them, they are benign so no problem. If it is uncomfortable they can take them out no prob. This is not something to worry about.

I always think it was my vasectomisation that caused it but the doc assured me this was not the case.
