Cut two smallish doughnut shaped pieces of cardboard, leaving the hole in the centre large enough to pass wool through. Start winding wool through and over the ring until you cannot get anymore through the hole. Then, using small sharp scissors, start cutting around the outside of the ring to reveal the cardboard. Finally, tie a piece of wool, tightly, around your pom pom , through your two doughnut rings to secure. Remove cardboard and enjoy!

It's a bit difficult to describe without pictures. You need two circular pieces of cardboard with a circular hole in the middle. The diameter of the hole in the middle should be just under a third of the total diameter. (If you want to be exact, the diameter of the card should equal the circumference of the hole - but pom-poms aren't that fussy!

Wind wool through the hole and round the outside until the hole is full. Cut round the outside (between the two pieces). Take another length of wool and wind it round the pom-pom between the two pieces of card, pull it tight and tie it. Now remove the card and you've got - a load of bits of wool all over the floor!

Cut 2 identical donut shapes (rings), place them together and then with wool, wrap the fabric around the template. When the template is completely wrapped (from threading the wool through & around the donut), use a pair of scissors to cut through the edge of the wool - cutting between the two cardboard donuts. With out moving the wool, quickly tie some more wool between the the templates (tight and double knot). When knot is in place, you can remove the carboard donuts and fluff up the wool --- you have a pom-pom!

cut out two rings of cardboard (so they look like a doughnut). Put them on top of each other and wind wool round them untill you cant fit any more wool round. Then use scissors to cut in between the rings. Before you remove the cardboard tie a piece of wool tightly around the inside of the carboard rings then remove the cardboard. Fluff into shape and your good to go.
Try experimenting with different sizes of cardboard rings or mixing different colours of wool.

Hope this helps.

ooooo, well i can remember taking two pieces of donut shaped card and then wrapping around the ring working in a circle, loads and loads of times till you fill the hole. You then slip a pair of scissors in the gap between the two bits of card and cut in a circle, and there you go.
