I just told a colleague that and kinda feeling dumb because of it. Think that the both of us are equally qualified for the position and if I din inform her of taht, there will be one less competitor for the vacancy.

i don't think that there is any thing wrong with that, life is like a ladder u both will meet again ,what u sow is what u reap one good turn deserves another.he might be the one to help u tomorrow.and what is ur is always nobody can take it away.

Ya I once had a friend I told I was going into this place to see if they had an opening & he sneaks to the place & begs for a job & got one, & I was out of luck, who care about anyone else, but them selves these days, I'll tell U, no-one.....

No, it's not; the best person for the job will get hired. If you don't get the job, it wasn't meant to be and you're meant to be somewhere else.
