There are many people in the US who claim to be Christians who are not. It wouldn't be a true count. The question should be how many believe Jesus rose from the dead and is the Son of God? (Jehovah) Then tally it up. You would find many people who attend churches do not believe this. An example would be the Christian Catholics. Are you aware Hitler was a Catholic? And when he died, the Catholic Church claimed he died in the name of Christianity?
The Mormon's believe they are Christians, but follow a man named Joseph Smith who received golden plates from the being Moroni, and Smith(a 19th Century man) took over 20 years to interpret the 10 or 12 golden plates from an alien language into 13th Century English language. A addition to the Holy Bible. A book from the Americas where none of the people mentioned nor any remnants can be found to attest to the truth of this book. Unlike the Holy Bible which still the lands, rivers and peoples and documents can be found.
Christian doesn't mean what it did to begin with. I no longer say I am a Christian after attending church at nearly one of every denomination that there is in the US and seeing what those denominations consider christian, is not.

it quite is a loose u . s .. maximum individuals of people, and actually Christians, are no longer oppressed or persecuted on any large scale. it quite is risk-free to assume that notwithstanding each physique is prepared to "get up for", they're already doing it. some people donate time or money to charity, or artwork to alter regulations. some people can not be stricken with that, yet nevertheless purchase a purple ribbon on the gas station or publish a backyard sign. There are Christians for whom their faith is important and substantial, and that they do what charity artwork (or proselytization) they think of is nice. There are Christians for whom their faith is substantial adequate to dress up two times a year. and then there are those whose faith is little greater desirable than a obscure experience of a god. each physique is already status up for what they have self belief in. it quite is in many circumstances sorting out for selection one (or selection one's teenagers), yet it quite is nearly ways it is.

144,000 true believing Christians only(Revelations). 1/3 of the planet is controlled by the spirit of Satan. Ofcouse millions call themselves Christians, but its nonsense. Do you have the intense desire to to please God and to refuse all sin?
