Yazoo did 'Only You'
Yazoo were Vince Clarke and Alison Moyet. It was their first single and was a hit in 1982. It's taken from their album 'Upstairs At Eric's'.
It was covered by the Flying Pickets in 1983, and their version reached No.1 (it was that years Christmas no.1)

The first version was sung by "The Platters" and did a good job
of it, I have three recordings, since the Platters changed some,
especially the soloist, as time went by. But they never beat the
first recording, it is impeccable!

The Flying Pickets did an a cappella song called Only You, Yazoo also had a song with this title.
