it is his ever so polite way of telling you to hit the road jack.
He has been trying for some time to tell you it was over, but for whatever reason he couldn't do it. so he thought this would be an easy way.
in other words "don't let the door hit ya where the good Lord split ya" Sorry, but that's what it means.

it means.........time to move on with your life, he has been breaking up with you and you keep making excuses to him trying to stay together. you can read the words, move on with your life....as hard as that may be.
