he went to casuality last night put on oxegen went doctors this morning but i didnt go the doctor said he had water on lungs and just said to rest and use asthma inhalers but didnt explain how this happened/

well, the first step would be to ask the doctor. the only thing i can think of is if he has a heart prolem called heart failure, where the heart pumps in adequately, causing the fluid it doesn't pump to backup into the lungs. there are several diuretic medicines that can help that problem, but he may need others to help with his heart, if that's what the problem is. Did you see a doctor about this? Did he tell you what is causing the fluid retention? Ask your doctor about furosimide or "Lasix". That might be the way to go depending of what the cause is
