A statue of Nelson was built in O'Connell Street, Dublin in 1808 to commemorate The Battle of Trafalgar. The foundation stone was laid by the Lord Lieutenant on February 15th of that year. Unfortunately it was blown up in 1966, but the head of Nelson has been preserved by Dublin Civic Museum. I hope this clears it up for you.

There used to be one in the middle of O'Connell Street, outside the GPO, but it was blown up by the IRA sometime in the sixties. Apparently Lord Nelson's head (from the statue) was stolen by students and held for ransom... but that could just be an urban legend. The Millennium Spire now stands where the old Nelson's Column used to be.

Nelson's Pillar, with the statue of Lord Nelson on top, was blown up in 1966 by the IRA, breaking all the glass windows all along the street. (O'Connell St)
A metal spire now stands in its place. (No relevance to Lord Nelson.)
I'm sorry, Tell your brother to pay up. if you meant there is one NOW! There isn't.
