week forty? i just want to know the statistics. i am going to be a first time mother and want to see my chances for going into later at week 40 or beyond.

Got 3 children.
First was born at 32 weeks, second went 42 weeks, third was pretty much bang on.
You can't tell anything by collecting info from random people.
No matter what the statistics you are an individual, just better to be prepared.

With my first born I was due on April 1st 2003 and went into labour on the 29th of March 2003. He was born at 12.01am on 30-3-03, my labour was short for first time mother, only 9 hours. It was writen on my card he was 39 weeks + 6 days.
My second was much quicker, I was due 1st January 2005, she was born on the 10th of December 2004, at 12.32am, with a 55 min labour. She was calculatored at 36 weeks + 6 days.

Statistically, first-time mothers who are not induced go into labor, on average, around 41 weeks.

With my 1st pregnancy i went 40 weeks and 1 day with my 2nd i went to 38 weeks and with my 3rd i went to 37 weeks every body is different but normaly first pregnancies go like text book pregnancies its the ones after that go of course lol!!! just relax and enjoy the rest of your pregnancy and when the time is right you will have your baby good luck and congratulations!!!!

Most first time mothers go at 40 or 41, unless they have specific medical conditions that would make them go into preterm labor.
My first went at 41 weeks - 9# 14oz. Yeah, I was always induced at 40 so that would never happen again!

I went into labor at 39 weeks so did my sister and my friend at 34 weeks. We were all in our 20´s having our first baby.

I went into labor with my first one day before her due date..
My second was born 2 months early and my third was born at 29 weeks..

me: first time-- 40 weeks, one day. my 4 friends ( all first timers): 1. 44 weeks
2. 40 weeks
3. 40 weeks
4. 38 weeks 4 days
I went into labor on my due date, but delivered the next day. I hope this helps

I went into labor with my daughter at 37 weeks and she came out at 7lbs 2oz.

I went into labour three days after my due date, gave birth at 2:04 am on my fourth day after due date.
