There R many who have quit not only smoking but most every addiction.
Disclaimer:
Consult your physician before U commence a fast. Most of them will U advise U not to fast.
Three days of water only fast ( no juices, no drugs.) Avoid even a spoonful of lime juice or as some will advise U.
I have personally fasted fr 40 days only on just water. &
Method.
Three days before U launch on a water fast, consume only vegetable & fruit diet, along with rice/bread. Avoid dry fruitbefore &after the fast for three days.
Section A:
1.)The third evening commences the fast with a fruit meal before sunset.
Taking a herbal laxative, is helpful. Fast begins no more fo od of a ny sort. Sorry, but U do want to quit smking, then do nt break these rules.
2.) Since it is normal to feel weak during the fast, try resting most of the waking hours.
3. If U feel like passing (fainting), do not try to reach for a chair or any other thing to sit on. Just sit on the ground wherever U R.
4.) Do not take even one step, because there i s a chance of falling down. U may think U can make it to the chair a coupla feet away, dont try it, sit whereever U R. In a few minutes U will be ale rise up walk slowly to a place of rest.
5.) Third evening ie 72 hours fro m the time of sommenncing the fast. Break the fast only with a bowl of fruit, wait a half hour & drink your glass of water as before.
6) For most people, hunger mounts up so immensely that they will eat all th at they missed. This is very damaging to the body & your self control.
7.) Starting next morning breakfast, avoid an y kind of meat for t hree more days 72 hours. this willl give self control & also take away the ingrained code written in your CELLS FOR A CIGARETTE OR ANY ADDICITIVE HABIT.
8.) THIRD DAY ONWARDS, U CAN CELEBRATE YOUR VICTORY OVER CIGARETTES.
NOW ALL THAT MONEY CAN GO TO A DOWN PAYMENT ON YOUR OWN CONDOMINIUM. :-).
SECTION B :
1)Every two waking hours, empty the bladder & drink water.
Consumption of water depends on your weight Weight in pounds divided by 2= 'X.ounces, 'X'= being the number of ounces that is to be consumed in 16 waking hours. Divide 'X'ounce by 8= this many ounces is the amount to be taken every two hours. Just because U feel hungry, do not drink any more water until two hours elapse. Over- drinking of water can bloat your stomach & make U break the fast.
If U R in a very hot climate, & U feel your throat is drying up, do not drink water to appease your thirst. Have a glass of water beside U & just sip a smalll gulp wetting, swishing your mouth & delay swallowingit. U may feel the need to keep on sipping few more times. Wait it out for the two hours, t odrink your measured amount of water
On
SECTION 3:
Avoid:
1.) Physical excerise.
2. It is good to rest most of your wakiong hours.
3.) Avoid waking hours, read light/spiritual material.
4.)Avoid TV/Copmputer, radiO telephone calls & CONVERSING WITH ANYONE etc as any extra-currical activity will divert U from fasting.
5.) Follow the above routine.
Believe U will kick the habit, avoid any friendly advise..

Chantix is a new drug to help smokers quit. It will block the receptor sites where the nicotine goes. It suposed to make a person lose interest in smokeing. There is not suposed to be any craveings. I am sure there would still be withdrawel symptoms. I have not tried it yet.
Welbutren (spelling?) is an antidepressent. It will help you with the anxiety that one will feel while quiting smoking.

Also note that smokeing is a physical and a psychological addiction. For example, even when I am not having a craveing I will smoke after dinner, while stressed, with coffee etc. These are called triggers. Change the way you think. "I am not a smoker", or I can smoke anytime that I want to but not right now.
Smoking is part of our behavior which means somehow we must change. For example, when I get up in the morning the first thought in my head is "I need a cigerette." I am going to replace that thinking with hot choc. instead of coffee and coloring to keep my hands busy. I have a high dependence on cigerette's so I am going to try the medicine along with changing my behaviors and thought process.
Look up quit smoking you will find many sites with tips on how to quit along with hotlines to call.
Myself I am writing up all my triggers first and try to change it. Color in the morning, sing in the car, read my book outloud because it is hard to read a book outloud and smoke at the same time.
Basically I am doing some research off the internet and figureing out what kind of treatment plan will work best for me. I do think sense I have such a high dependence, the medicine is needed.

I have never known anyone to ever have a problem with smoking it a bit. Personally, it makes me nauseous, I just can't smoke it. There are no pot addiction clinics, 12 step groups, rehabs, or whatever. If you are addicted, it's in your mind, not your body. It's a weed, an herb. Smoking some chamomile tea will make you very relaxed, but not high. Try it.

I know of Zyban. They prescribe it as ONLY an anti-smoking drug in Australia. In America, this bupropion hydrochloride is prescribed under the name Wellbutrin as an anti-depressant.
