You can turn the dial from one end to the other and all you hear is some inane chatter about some mundane detail of the DJs life and all you want is to hear a tune. Should these people just shut up and amaze us with their knowledge of all things musical and play a bloody record.

Yes, it has gotten really irritating! The only reason turn on the radio is to listen to some music and all you get is idiots like sara cox talking about her knickers and other people talking about an accident with a drink or something that happend to them last week!!!!
I don't tend to listen to it now i'd rather have an mp3 player or ipod!

The more they talk, especially OVER the beginning and end of records, the less chance others have of illegally copying the record to whatever other medium they fancy. It's all part of copyright control.

I completely agree, especially when I am communiting to work when I want to escape whilst sitting on the train! If I wanted to listen to a talking radio station I would tune into one!

lolz ur so right I say they shud start writing a autobiography if they were so interested to blurt things bout themselves they mite as well keep quite and start writing for our ears sake hehehe maybe they are deaf themselves so they can't hear the music they try playing so just keep on chattering.

No sorry, I find that most of the radio presenters are actually quite entertaining..esp. those on Radio 2..BUT if you are talkin' about "won'erful Radio 1" then I DO agree 100% with you.

Yes. Capital Radio are the worst offenders which is why I don't listen to that station much anymore.
