I guess it might be a Chrysler Prowler.
Or the bloke above might be right with the Porsche Cayenne, but the Turbo S model that Richard Hammond tested on Top Gear which was very noisy.

Ignoring the fact that you claim there was a horse badge...
You could be talking about a Chevrolet HHR. They are the new retro super mini-van/wagon/who knows. Other than similar to a PT Cruiser the other adjectives wouldn't fit.
Plymouth Prowler (metioned above) sounds about right.

A Ford Mustang maybe?? That's the only car I know with a 'horse badge' apart from a Ferrari, but I think you would've probably recognised that.

Actually I think a Vauxhall and Peogeot also have a horse on the badge too

The only two car 'makes' a know of that have horses for its logo/emblem is either a Ferrari or a Mustang.... There may be more out there I don't know of....
