olympus C-5060 can not be used as webcam. It is nowhere mentioned in it's literature that this camera supports webcam feature. If there is any external driver or attachement which can make a standard camera work like a webcam, then I would like to know that too :)

I do this and it works fine using Yahoo Messenger and a JVC digital video camera. Input is input. It has nothing to do with the camera so long as it is the same input technology as that of the video card. Consider whether your software application wants a USB connection or a Firewire (IEEE 1394) connection. That is the real issue. Check the help guide for your application.

does the camera allows it to be used as a webcam? Some camera don't. If it can't be done, my advise is to go back to the shop from where u bought it and ask them how u can make it works.....

is it a plug and play camera or does it need to be installed using the CD that came with it. Alot of dig. cameras will not double as a web cam, though.

Most dig. cameras will not function as a web cam. Check the manual or ask at a dealer that handles your brand of camera.
