Humans, both male and female have the same number of ribs, (12 pairs) as do all the great apes, this is determined by the HOX genes.
In a few cases there appears to be an extra pair, this is merely a random mutation.

A cervical rib is a supernumerary (extra) rib which arises from the seventh cervical vertebra. It is a congenital abnormality located above the normal first rib. A cervical rib is present in only about 1 in 200 (0.5%) of people; in even more rare cases, an individual may have not one but two cervical ribs. The presence of a cervical rib can cause a form of thoracic outlet syndrome due to compression of the brachial plexus or subclavian artery. This is often diagnosed by finding a positive Adson's sign on examination, where the radial pulse in one arm is lost during abduction and external rotation of the shoulder.

There is no difference in the number of ribs between a male and female.
Each (normal) person will have 14 pairs of ribs of which 3 pairs are called floating ribs (They are not attached to the Sternum/Breastbone).
Some freaks - Prince/The Artist formerly Known As Prince/The Sign - have reportedly had their 2 lower ribs removed so that (how can I put this?) they can give themselves pleasure in a certain way. How true this is I don't know.

Two points.
1 - No, on average each person has the same number of ribs. However, there is some variation - some individuals may have an extra set of ribs. This isn't dependent on sex though.
2 - Even if the creation myth was true, and God really did remove Adam's rib to create Eve, why would that mean that all men would have one less? You don't inherit things that happen to your parents - if my father broke a leg before I was conceived, I wouldn't inherit a broken leg.

No, adult males and females have a similar form of ribs, however the Bible not at all mentions how many ribs Adam had previously God placed him to sleep. If he had 13 ribs, than giving one up for the introduction of his spouse might clarify why all of us have twelve now. God purely used the rib from Adam to create Eve, he did no longer certainly provide her the rib, so therein lies the parable of ladies having greater ribs than adult males. This additionally explains how actual the Bible has been mis-interpreted by the centuries, using fact we now and back do no longer examine it precisely because it extremely is meant to be examine. of course not they don't (have one more set of ribs)
actually if you took the story of Genesis literally, then women should have ONE RIB more. Or you could take it another way, supposed that we (men) used to have ONE extra rib, that it was taken away to make the woman, and that she was made with a number of ribs to match that on man, after the rib was taken out ;-)
some people have tried to take this to another plane, mentioning that women have that "X" sex chromosom where we have a "Y", so that you could take "rib" to mean "leg of the chromosom". And such people have thus typically tied this with stories of creation of the human species by aliens.

No, both men and women have the same number of ribs. My old science teacher, was disecting and man and women and her friend said we women have more ribs. And my teacher counted both the man and womans rib and found that they both had the same. Trust me on this one.
