My son had this problem. We went to the Dell site and looked for computer repair places (actual physical repair sites in our area) that are authorized to repair Dell systems, and we took it to our nearest one. Be prepared to prove how you acquired the system, and they will reset your password and such for you. You can also buy system disks there too. We spent about $200.00 getting his working properly again, but money well spent as he inherited the laptop from a relative, and came out with a nice computer in the end. Good luck with your problem.
