I would rather have my tongue tied to a hot muffler and be dragged somewhere than ride a subway. But I notice the phenomenon you mention in elevators, also.

I don't take the subway. I live in a small town. I do avoid eye contact and I have taught my kids to do the same. I do always know what is going on all around me. It's better to be safe than sorry.

nope, I rode the subways for many years in NYC and never felt the need or wanted to avoid eye contact unless the person was talking to themselves or trying to preach religion.

you ought to be careful. bear in mind Ronald Goldman interior the OJ Simpson case? regardless of if he became ever OJ's spouse's lover or no longer is beside the point. OJ theory it to be the case, and in his disturbed suggestions, responded to him almost as violently as he responded to her being with him. the top effect: they're the two lifeless. element being, do no longer underestimate the threat you're able to be in, and don't underestimate the threat which you being around/together with her ought to place her in. in case your dating is new, and he's a threat, you should be attentive to the data...on your sake. depending on what those data are, you the two ought to desire to talk this out with a companion and youngsters violence counselor for the protection of you the two. in case you think of i'm overblowing this, please evaluate: maximum homicides via intimate companions happen for the period of the 1st year following actual separation from the abusive companion, and, some DV victims are no longer waiting to correctly estimate the point of threat they could be in. Edit: seem on the data. the guy had no qualms approximately BREAKING IN to a distinctive guy's apartment to commit an act of VIOLENCE. And, this act of violence ought to correctly have been executed with the motive no longer purely to scare the guy off, (a controlling tactic usually used via abusers) yet to INTIMIDATE her, besides. That, in itself, is ABUSIVE. no question. you could guess the place there is smoke there is hearth. i might check out added...and be fairly careful of investigating it with the guy (as stated via yet another poster). you ought to be putting your self in harm's way. And, better than probable, he can't inform you strategies it fairly became. Anti-socials are manipulative. he's already shown he manipulates via his controlling habit. He'd probable attempt to furnish you a pleasing little music and dance that bears little or no resemblance to the fact.
