conflict is bout winning and/or losing.

negotiation is just the bargain about prestige and solid values.

To SOLVE a conflict-not win or lose or whatever goes thru compassion.

Negotiation if possible. Conflict when it is not. But there can be no true negotiation without the possibility of conflict. If I have no fear of any retribution for my actions, I have no need to negotiate. I will just take what I want.
